Questions relating to Tor Onion Services

Normally, Tor protects the anonymity of clients visiting a website or other internet service. However, it also provides a mechanism to protect the operator of a server. This is called an 'onion service'. Onion services are given a generated domain name in the .onion pseudo-top-level domain and are only routable via the Tor network.

Onion services are most often used for web sites, but can be used for any TCP based internet service.
