I'm trying to capture onion addresses so they can be accessed via my hidden service. I'm just running into some trouble getting socat set up. I can connect to old style V2 addresses but not V3 addresses. Anything with a V3 address just gets rejected and shows an nginx error 502. I'm using Debian 8 but have tried setting up on a more modern centOS server and get the same problems.

This is my torrc file:

SocksPort 9050 Default: Bind to localhost:9050 for local connections.
HiddenServiceDir /var/lib/tor/hidden_service/
HiddenServicePort 80 127.0.0.1:80

This is my nginx config file:

  server {
     listen 127.0.0.1:80;
    root /var/www/;
    client_max_body_size 99M;
    charset utf-8;
    index index.html;

    location / {
    proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:81/;
    proxy_set_header Host $host;
    proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
    proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr;
}
  }

and this is the command I'm running through socat:

socat tcp4-LISTEN:81,reuseaddr,fork,keepalive,bind=127.0.0.1 SOCKS4a:127.0.0.1:vww6ybal4bd7szmgncyruucpgfkqahzddi37ktceo3ah7ngmcopnpyyd.onion:80,socksport=9050

Any help would be really appreciated as I'm banging my head against a wall trying to get this working.
