I'm trying to figure out what can cause Tails to use a wrong resolution after changing my monitor. My Asus 24" screen worked without trouble with Tails in 1920x1080 mode. I replaced it with a Samsung 24" which works well in 1920x1080 under Windows. However Tails would no longer detect anything over 1024x768 and even starts at 120Hz which gives a picture of insufficient height (photo at end of post). Switching to 50Hz solves the height issue but this has to be done at each startup and I want to use the 1920x1080 resolution as before.
I have tried various xrandr options but none work correctly. At best I get a 1080 pixels high picture but with a 4cm black spacing from either edge, hence a slightly horizontally crushed picture. The Auto mode of the monitor won't help.
I finally tried using the nomodeset at boot (tab option) but this will only allow 1024x768. Any hints ? Any help appreciated (thanks in advance).
I tried adding the 1920x1080 mode this way:
amnesia@amnesia:~$ cvt 1920 1080

As I was stuck I thought it could be useful to get more details of the monitor and the graphics card using DriversCloud under Windows. Here's what I got:
