I have a VPS with a lot of high-speed spare bandwidth that I'd like to donate. But my VPS host does not allow hosting TOR exit nodes, due to the abuse complaints. So I figured I'd just setup my exit node to route all traffic through my (unlimited) VPN, that way all abuse notices should come to them, and they should be used to it I suppose.

I could also just host a relay, but I figured exit nodes are more needed (are they?) So is this a good idea?

  • your VPN provider will almost certainly catch this quickly and put a stop to it -- it's very unlikely to be allowed under their terms. you're probably better off just running a relay -- this is very helpful, too! – tao_oat Jan 7 at 14:23
