So I am trying to follow along with a presenter who uses a network adapter on his Kali Linux inside a VM to conduct network monitoring with Kismet, but I certainly do not want to install VirtualBox on my TAILS OS and so now I am left confused.

How do I use this network adapter on TAILS? I do not see a menu for selecting Device and running ip a did nothing.

Am I on the right track here? Did I even need to purchase this network adapter to use Kismet in TAILS? This documentation says I can use it: https://tails.boum.org/doc/anonymous_internet/networkmanager/index.en.html#wi-fi-adapters but do I need to shut off wi-fi connection? How do I configure it once plugged into the physical machine? The instructions speak about installing drivers, but that sounds like it can compromise my TAILS OS.
