I am running Manjaro Linux which came with the packages tor and torsocks installed by default. I know normally the log file is supposed to be stored in /var/log/tor/tor.log, but I don't see the folder.

I know that you are supposed to edit a torrc file in either /etc/tor, which I have done. I also know there's a torrc file in the Browser/TorBrowser/Data/Tor folder which is in the Data directory (I have tried editing this file only, but apparently Tor Browser Bundle does not like it when I edit the file and refuses to start. So I put that file back to normal). So then I tried editing the torrc in the /etc/tor, trying to follow the guide here: https://2019.www.torproject.org/docs/faq.html.en#torrc But that also did nothing. I tried doing all this with Tor Browser Bundle installed and uninstalled, but that did nothing. Maybe there's something I'm not following?

I am also trying to make it so when I do the command

torify telnet <.onion> <port>

so that it shows up in the log file, but it's not doing that.
