I have an already running https website and I would like to also have a full functioning (with logins) mirror of it. I have read about EOTK and Onionize but I am not quite sure about it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm running on Ubuntu 18.04 and Nginx.

  • HiddenServices are built to hide the IP address of the service. Therefore creating a hidden service with directly accessing to your web server and database does not seem necessary. I mean, you may use some other mirroring (or even better, caching) services such as CloudFlare. – Mir Saman May 3 '19 at 7:08
  • Yes, I am already using CloudFlare but the question still stand; what if I want a .onion for my already up and running website as well? – Drogon Dag May 3 '19 at 13:13
  • Actually it is possible to run a tor instance in your main web server and redirect traffic to the web server. But for your question. If your site cannot be accessed from some countries or there are privacy concerns, I suggest using an onion mirror. Otherwise, I do not suggest. But if you want to create a mirror add two lines to the torrc config file. – Mir Saman May 3 '19 at 21:13
  • HiddenServiceDir THE_DIRECTORY_FOR_PRIVATE_KEY – Mir Saman May 3 '19 at 21:14
  • HiddenServicePort 80 127.0.0.1:80 which will redirect the requests of port 80 of your hidden web server to the 127.0.0.1:80 (your nginx address) – Mir Saman May 3 '19 at 21:16
