In the tor project's wiki for torsocks there is a section regarding applications which are compatible with torsocks, and a comment about wget says "Possibility of identity leaks through http headers". The only http header I can think of is the default request header that is sent by the application and can be identified as coming from wget but I don't understand how this can be an identity leak. Also can't this be circumvented by crafting a custom http header and pretend to be a common browser?

I have also seen a lot of articles around about torsocks + cURL but this application is not listed in the wiki. Is it considered safe to use?
