Been toying with Cloudflare DNS (IPv4 is 1.1.1.1:1.0.0.1 the IPv6 addresses are 2606:4700:4700::1111,2606:4700:4700::1001) set in my router and had a pretty good experience so far, just wondered whether this would impact Tor? Currently not connecting.

Cloudflare recently announced their new "hidden DNS resolver".

I'm a bit confused about how I'm trying to achieve both privacy and speed and adding additional complexity to this.

  1. Am I ok using the default CloudFlare DNS in my router?
  2. Do I need to configure the CLoudFlare .onion DNS resolver?

This post would suggest using a different or default DNS would lessen chances of identification https://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2016/10/05/unmasking-tor-users-with-dns/
