When I run:

torsocks -d wget https://dg4mhyv7vtbu2mi5.onion

I get the connection error:

Socks5 received connect reply - ver: 5, rep: 0x05, atype: 0x01 (in socks5_recv_connect_reply() at socks5.c:525) Connection refused to Tor SOCKS (in socks5_recv_connect_reply() at socks5.c:549)

However, when I go to my Ubuntu 18.04 server, and look in:

/var/log/tor/log.1

All the messages are from last year

Where can I find the tor / apache2 / socks log file to find out why it's being refused?

Alternatively, if this is a well known problem, please let me know the fix - I've tried looking!

I've opened port 443 and port 9150 in case that's a problem --- but, since the debug log from torsocks doesn't say what port it's using, I've no idea if that's the problem, or not.
