I remember (or perhaps I should say that I think I remember) that the Tor Browser Bundle was configured, under all operating systems, to show in the user-agent field that it was running on a Windows operating system. The reason was that the use of a uniform user-agent across all implementations decreased the uniqueness of each Tor user's browser.

However, I happened to visit BrowserSpy.dk today, using Tor Browser 8.0, and saw that the user-agent field shows a Linux operating system, which indeed was the operating system in use. Has something changed in the developers' approach to the user-agent field?
