At the moment the meek packages are landing in debian so we can expect them to arrive in ubuntu too.

Previous info are not working fine anymore, only 64bitit looks there is now a repository for debian unstable ... so I changed my previous answer with this one:(

They depend on iceweasel:1 Add Repository

  • they don't work on ubuntu unless you remove iceweasel from the package dependency in xul-ext-meek-http-helper_0.15+git20150304-1_all.deb

Repository (info on the repository page).

Meek Installation:2. Install meek-client package

sudo apt-get install meek-client

Note3. Update your tor configuration
if you are on debian

Now edit you just need to install the packages and configuretor configuration file /etc/tor/torrc.:

  1. Download all meek packages
  2. extract deb files sudo dpkg-deb -R xul-ext-meek-http-helper_0.15+git20150304-1_all.deb extracted-files/
  3. edit extracted-files/DEBIAN/control change all iceweasel entry with firefox
  4. repackage the file sudo dpkg-deb -b extracted-files/ xul-ext-meek-http-helper_0.15+git20150304-1_all.deb

  5. install all downloaded debs sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Configure torrc

sudo gedit /etc/tor/torrc

At this point you can configure you torrc and addAdd the meek plugin: to it

ClientTransportPlugin meek exec /usr/bin/meek-client-wrapper -- /usr/bin/meek-client

You need now to add meek briges ( currently meek-amazon, meek-azure, andAnd some meek-google) you can copy them the from torrc of torbrowser. bridges:

I discovered that in this way you can have both bridge obfs3 and meek ones, that is kind of cool. (this looks not possible in tor-browser)
