May 8, 2021 at 21:53 comment added Steve If you're logging it with systemd, are you sure there is no 'default' service like in my earlier comment? So if you run systemctl list-units --type=service | grep [^a-zA-Z]tor the service name isn't [email protected]?
May 8, 2021 at 4:45 comment added Trey @Steve Also I found this forum.manjaro.org/t/… but I don't have a /usr/lib/tor folder so I tried changing the ownership of /etc/tor to the tor user, but it didn't work either
May 8, 2021 at 4:02 comment added Trey @Steve I looked it up, and it seems there's only journalctl unfortunately
May 1, 2021 at 21:34 comment added Steve Thanks for adding that. You haven't posted the tor log yet though which will tell you what the error is. Your torrc file has the line Log notice syslog, so you should check your syslog (I don't know where Arch stores this, so you'll have to look it up) for the tor error messages.

Apr 28, 2021 at 0:25 comment added Steve Do you get any output from journalctl -u tor@default? Can you also post your torrc file (/etc/tor/torrc)?
