2023 Moderator Election

On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Full elections have three phases and an optional fourth phase (Primary):

  1. Question Collection
  2. Nomination
  3. Primary
  4. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

Nomination Primary Election

I'm here for a long time and I love to help people to solve their real-life tasks, not just a test or research ones. I do have some time during the week to review and to answer questions so we both learn to build a better and stronger privacy network experiences. I'm also taking part in mesh networks and decentralization movement worldwide in a Pirate Party International and other communities. IMHO there's nothing impossible - it's just something we don't know how to achieve it yet: that motto helps me as a teacher and as a developer, so that's why I've joined this community. Let's make it working the exact way you want it to fit your task? ;)

Comments-based discussions are irreplaceable part of finding the solution. If there is some flags and comments - ok, fine! Let's make it working to resolve 'em all - that's why they do exist

  1. How would you handle a situation where another mod closed/deleted/etc. a question that you feel shouldn’t have been?

I will contact the person first to ask why it's done - if there is no straightforward reason out of it in my eyes. After that I will propose my answer and/or ask a question author to expand the question to make it more meaningful to others - if there's a need in doing this.

The greater the power - the deeper the responsibility of using it. Yes, spam-patrol and out-of-topics pest control is a must for any administrative role, but as for me it most of all to help people who are in need to do something to achieve it - starting from making their questions to be precise

It's just a mark, not any kind of fetish - for me. I'm doing my IT path for a 34th year of practice, so I'd love to share the knowledge

I fell it will enable me to be of better service to the community
